Vocation is finished (for now)

Finally done with Vocation, I learned a lot about web development. As much as people hate AI, the difference between handwriting code and vibe coding is a very large gap. Vocation 2.0 took me a month using subagents. Had I tried to handwrite everything and debug on my own, this project would've taken several months. Even then, the project isn't even close to finishing, there's so much more I can add to it but I've just lost interest in the project altogether.

UI design using AI is by far the most difficult to work with. I'm using Claude with Impeccable and Google Stitch, maybe it's a skill issue but the designs still come out with that AI look. The best way to combat this is to literally step by step change one part of the UI on each page, that alone takes a while.

Claude (or AI in general) is great for scraping data, though it does have its limitations. Collecting data was another part of the project that took a long time, just to scrape the catalog of every Florida school took an entire weekend to finish.

This is a project I'm proud of, but man, before AI, creating end-to-end software by yourself sounds impossible - or at least would take years.
